Our college, affiliated to the University of Calcutta, offers graduate (advanced) courses in Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, English, History and Economics and post-graduate courses in Chemistry and Physics. The college has already carved a niche in the academic map of the country in general and the city of Kolkata in particular. Every year our students feature at the top of the merit list of the examinations conducted by Calcutta University. Most of them get admission to the premier institutions in India, viz the IITs, IISC Bangalore, JNU NewDelhi, CIEFL Hyderabad, Delhi School of Economics, to name a few. In 2003 in recognition of our achievements, National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has graded us in the ‘A’ category of colleges, a distinction enjoyed by only a select few colleges in the state of West Bengal. Very recently, the University of Calcutta and the UGC have offered us autonomy which we are going to accept.  In addition, the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology,  Government of India, has declared our institution a Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (SIRO) in recognition of the research projects being conducted in our science laboratories by some of our eminent teachers.

We strongly feel that our academic ambience and quality of teaching will be further enriched if teachers of distinction and international reputation join their hands with us. Our college is located on a beautiful and sprawling Ashrama campus amidst sylvan surroundings with excellent accommodation and all necessary amenities for guest professors. The practice of inviting guest professors is not new on our campus but we want to facilitate it on a global scale now.

We therefore look forward to the cooperation of eminent teachers not only in India but also abroad who, we expect, would spare some of their valuable time for us, and come and stay on our campus for two to six months to offer their valuable services. We will be more than eager to provide them with board and lodging at our cost.
