Admissions

  Procedure of Admissions:

Students are admitted to the *Higher Secondary (Plus two) and Degree courses through a written test and/or an interview. In both the cases, application forms can be obtained on production of original marksheet. Forms are not sent by post. For H.S. course forms are issued just after the publication of Madhyamik results of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and in the case of Degree course, after the publication of H.S. results of the West Bengal Higher Secondary Council. The test is usually held within 10 days of the publication of the above results.  

The  college has started post-graduate in Chemistry under the University of Calcutta , from the session 2005-06.

  Eligibility criteria:

In the Higher Secondary course, students securing 85 % marks in aggregate in Madhyamik or its equivalent are eligible to take the screening test while students seeking admission to 1st year class will have to secure 65 % in aggregate in the H.S. examination or its equivalent.

Subjects of screening test:

For pure science stream in the Higher Secondary course, the subjects in which the test is taken are Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics; for non-science stream, only English and for the students taking Economics, Statistics and Mathematics as their subjects, English and Mathematics are the subjects they will be tested on. In the case of Degree Course, the students will have to sit for a test in their respective honours subjects. Students seeking Statistics will take a test in Mathematics; those seeking Computer Science in Physics & Mathematics; those seeking History and Economics in English, Mathematics & English respectively.

  Results & Important Dates:

The results of the screening test are declared within a week from the date of admission test. For important dates & results regarding the admissions please click here.

Medium of Instruction:

The medium of instruction in our College is English.

*N.B. We have discontinued  with the Higher Secondary Course from 2005 as per an order issued by the Education Department, Government of West Bengal .
