An Appeal to our
Ex-studentsDear Brothers,
We are all proud of you and your success in life. Hopefully our college has been accredited by NAAC as an ‘A’ Grade College and as per its recommendations we have started M.Sc. course in Chemistry; Honours in Computer Science. M.Sc. in Physics will be started in this session. Naturally we have to invest more in respect of
Installing laboratories
Purchase of costly instruments
Payment to the Teachers (Part Time)
Purchase of books for P.G courses mainly etc.
These apart, we need to develop the existing college building with a few more class rooms, one seminar hall, three practical rooms. Also other infrastructural brush-up such as intercom for the departments of the college and also Internet connection to the departments need to be provided.
At present the consolidated monthly charges are fixed at Rs.1200/- (Twelve hundred) which cannot cover the expenses we have to incur in these areas. Moreover, about 250 students are enjoying financial help per year. You also know that many poor and meritorious students come to our college for higher education and we entertain them cordially. At least till date, academically fit students have never been refused. As a whole, the financial burden is huge and the economic picture is not very happy one. Last year, we had to incur a deficit to the tune of a little less than rupees ten lakh. It is alarming for us. You will all appreciate the existing fees of the college and hostel that we realize from the full paying students. Perhaps this is the minimum in the country. So long we have been approaching kind hearted persons for help. They are helping no doubt. But I feel more comfortable, appealing to you, my students and friends who I know well and who are able to contribute. We have also heard that the western educational institutions depend much on the contribution of their ex-pupils. And they also make it a point to contribute as a matter of routine. Many of our old brothers are also telling us to launch such a venture. Hence I request you to contribute annually to the development and scholarship funds of the college. Our yearly target is Rs.20 lakh.
The money can be sent to The Principal, Ramakrishna Mission Residential College, Narendrapur-700103. The cheques may be issued in favour of "RKMA College Students’ Home".
Love,
Principal
